A-Q’s God’s Engineering is his Magnum Opus

A-Q’s God’s Engineering is his Magnum Opus

Gilbert ‘A-Q’ Bani has been making Hip-Hop music for a long time. He released his first album in 2005 and hasn’t stopped since.

And while he went on from then to release some of the most impressive Hip-Hop albums, it’s his 2020 record God’s Engineering that has become his Magnum Opus.

At the time of its release, God’s Engineering became A-Q’s shortest track-length album yet his most articulate. The album marks another milestone for Q - almost like a refresh of his brand and musical taste - sort of what The Blueprint is to JAY-Z.

The album remains one of the most talked-about since its release, going ahead to win the “Best Hip-Hop Album” award at the 14 edition of The Headies.

Listen to the host of A Music In Time, Osagie Alonge discuss with A-Q how the album was made. Listen here.
