Timaya’s True Story is All About Pain and Passion

Timaya's debut album, "True Story, " is about passion and pain. Bursting into the music scene in 2007, Timaya gave music listeners the whole experience of the mind and world of this Bayelsa-born, Port Harcourt raised singer with an 11-track album that many call a cult classic.

The vocals are raw; you can feel Timaya’s passion in every verse on every song. His vocals are even more pronounced because of the subject matter which ranges from the search for success to remembering a massacre by the Nigerian military.

While we celebrate Timaya’s performance on “True Story”, we have to give props to legendary music producer K-SOLO for his noteworthy production. The production is groundbreaking and went on to become a sub-genre in Afrobeats which was later heavily adopted by other popular producers like Terry G and Samklef.
